I have exciting news…we’re building a house! We are thrilled to start moving along on a custom home that will be built just for us! Although this is the second home we will have purchased together, this one is very special. We will be moving to my hometown where I grew up. Evergreen has always had a special place in our hearts. It is where I was living when my hubby and I started dating and it is also where he popped the question. That special moment was on a beautiful mountain top right down the road. We can’t express how elated and blessed we are to be moving onto this next adventure in our lives.
I have to say we are a little stressed out with all the planning that is involved with building a new home. You can’t imagine the amount of choices there are for cabinets, flooring and even door hinges! It’s overwhelming! Please just take me back to the simpler preschool days where we were only given two options to choose from, like apple juice or orange juice.
Evergreen is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and we both love the secluded mountain feel where you are surrounded by trees. I joke that I don’t even know how to use a lawn mower because we never had a lawn! Our yard looked into the woods and just grew wild.
We have wasted plenty of hours looking through home magazines trying to nail down our style for the new house. One style we both agree on is what I like to call “rustic glam” which mixes beautiful metals with rustic woods.
After looking through what seems like a hundred wood samples, I have started to notice the beauty and warmth wood has. When I was approached by Jord about their wooden watches, I knew I had to have one.

Simplifying your life
Since I have been wearing this watch, I have noticed a few things. First off, there is something relaxing about having a timepiece that does not alert you when you get a text or need to stand up. With all the technology that bombards us on a daily basis, we are overwhelmed and stressed with the constant push of information. With fewer distractions, I can spend time with the people who matter most in my life.
Secondly, a beautiful and unique timepiece like this is something you pass down as a family heirloom. Some of my favorite pieces of jewelry are things I have from my grandmother. Every time look at them, they remind me of the many buttermilk biscuits we would make for breakfast together or all those times we wasted looking through recipes books. Those are truly the times that are well worth wasting.
